The contract term for our services is 30-days. To reserve your music lessons, please pay one full month tuition, and complete a one time enrollment. In lieu of a term contract, we ask that clients give a minimum 30-days paid notice to discontinue lessons.
Tuition is due on the 1st of the month by ACH or Credit Card auto draft. The 1st month’s tuition may be paid by check. Transactions that are declined because of insufficient funds or closed accounts, incur a fee of $25. To avoid unnecessary fees, please remember to let us know if your account information changes.
Please note many students are scheduled consecutively throughout the day, this makes it impossible to provide your full lesson time if you arrive late. Late arrival will result in lost lesson time. If you’re running more than 5-10 minutes late, it may be a good idea to call ahead and let us know that you’re on your way, but running late.
Your tuition reserves a place for you with the teacher at a specific time. This means that your lesson slot is unavailable to other students and that we have made a commitment to instruct you at that specific time. Private make up lessons are nearly impossible with our full schedule. If you have to miss a lesson, please let us know and you can sign up for a group make up class around the end of the quarter. Please make every effort to come to your lesson and avoid scheduling other activities during your lesson time. Consistent attendance helps insure good progress.
Our instructors are guaranteed payment for every student that they teach. Students are charged for all lessons, including those missed through student absence/cancellation. There are no refunds or make ups offered for missed and cancelled lessons beyond the group classes, unless caused by the teacher’s unavailability. If an instructor does becomes unavailable for some reason during the week, the school will provide a substitute instructor.
If you must cancel or reschedule a lesson, a 48 hour notice is needed if you would like to be offered a group make up class lesson. Lessons that are cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will not be made up. We are not obligated to provide a make up lesson for “no shows” or lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours advance notice. It is the student’s/parent’s responsibility to schedule make up lessons. If the make up can not be reschedule within a reasonable time or if a makeup lesson is missed the lesson is forfeited. Students may have the right to make up 1 missed lesson in any Quarter. Students may not use “credit” from a missed lesson to reduce the tuition for a subsequent month. Tuition remains the same, even if you cancelled a lesson in a prior month. Please do everything possible to minimize cancellations. Never cancel a lesson because you have not had time to practice.
Our school is scheduled to allow for 12 weekly lessons per 3 month quarter. There will be 1 week per 3 month quarter that our school will be closed. We will be open on “Monday” Holidays most every time. There are no tuition adjustments or make up lessons given for months that have 5 weekly lessons or months that have 3 weekly lessons. We do not follow public school system schedules for staff preparation. When in doubt, please call or email so you do not forfeit your lesson.
Recitals are held throughout the year. Participation is optional. All students are welcome to attend recitals even if they are not actually performing. We take photos and video of students performing at recitals and post them on our school bulletin board, social media and our website. The school reserves the right to use video and photographs of student performances for promotional use or other purpose. The school will not disclose personal information about students or their families. We could use the students’ first name only on some promotional material.
Students/parents must withdrawal in writing with 30 days notice for withdrawal from lessons and cessation for tuition charges. If a student withdraws during the month and elects not to come to his/her remaining lessons, the unattended lessons are forfeited and no refunds will be given nor will “credits” be applied to a sibling’s or family member’s or friends’ lessons.
Leave of Absence
Sometimes a student will leave town for the summer or must discontinue lessons temporarily. We still require the same advance notice to discontinue lessons temporarily as we do if the student is withdrawing from lessons. If you must miss lessons for an extended period of time (more than 3 weeks), please let us know with as much advance notice as possible. It is sometimes possible for a student to return to lessons in their old time slot but we can not “hold” or guarantee the student’s old time slot unless the time slot is held with 75% of the tuition per month.
Care of young children
Parents with young students are asked to remain on site during lessons. Your child’s safety is important to us. Please make arrangements to pick up your child as soon as the lesson is over.
- Tuition is collected in full between the 1st & 5th of the month.
- Students must provide >24 hours advance notice for missed lessons in order to be considered for a make up lesson. Please do not cancel a lesson because you have not had time to practice. Make up times may not be able to be scheduled.

There are no refunds or “credits” to subsequent months for missed or cancelled lessons without proper notice unless caused by the teacher’s or school’s unavailability.
